Mahimba Camp tastefully balances comfort and luxury with the authentic African experience, ensuring you never forget where you are, yet never find yourself wishing to go home.

Mahimba Camp is comprised of four simple luxury chalets that are adequately spaced apart for the utmost privacy. Each of our chalets features:

An African Hunter's Paradise
During your stay at Mahimba, most of your time in camp will likely be spent lounging in our spacious lapa (common area) that overlooks the river. This open-concept area features a comfortable seating area, a hammock, a large dining table, a campfire area with panoramic views, and most importantly, a fully stocked bar.
Reedbuck, waterbuck, and bushbuck can often be spotted in the river and if you forgot your binoculars in your room, we have a pair available in the lapa. The lounge also has an assortment of hunting reading materials for your enjoyment.

Gourmet Dining
Guests at Mahimba can look forward to enjoying gourmet meals every day, prepared by our in-camp chef. Coastal Mozambique uniquely offers locally sourced "surf & turf" dining that is rarely found in other hunting camps in Africa. Fresh prawns from the river and wild game meat cooked to perfection are our specialties at Mahimba Camp.
Fruits and vegetables are hand-grown and harvested from our gardens, and our staff even risks their lives to chase off the occasional thieving elephant to protect our produce!
Food Catered to Preference
Before your safari, you will be provided with a form where you can specify any dietary restrictions or preferences you may have for a personalized dining experience. Although our camp is very remote and the logistics of bringing in food can be extremely costly and challenging, we do our best to plan out our food and beverage stock at the beginning of the season to ensure your needs are met.
African Bush Dinners
Time permitting, we have a tradition of celebrating a successful safari with a special dinner prepared in the bush. Surrounded by the beautiful wilderness of Mozambique, our team will prepare a lovely meal for you in cooked in a traditional way over the fire. Watching the sunset with the smell of smoke and fresh-cooked meat in the air, surrounded by the sights and sounds of Africa, is truly an unforgettable experience that evokes the deepest essence of the African hunting experience.
